
Synopsis:
Kelly Hanson is preparing a duet with her grandmother for a recital when her grandmother suffers an unexpected stroke. Her motor skills are compromised and she cannot play with ease anymore. When Kelly is alone, she reacts with anger, confusion, and sadness; but when she visits her grandmother, she stays strong for her. Kelly's attempts to connect with her grandmother through their duet conflict with her grandmother's defeatest attitude. Kelly's continual pursuit of her grandmother ends when she must play their song alone on stage--she can't play it. When Kelly's grandmother sees the effect her attitude has had on Kelly, she lays down her pride and arduously begins the song. Kelly, now the teacher, plays at a pace her grandmother can keep up with.
